Quarantine Day 120–There’s a solution to all this

Dear HobbyLobby,

Why the hell, in this day and age, don’t you have a computer system that will scan each item and automatically tell the cashier if it’s on sale or what the correct price with a coupon is? What is the point of having cashiers manually input the price, coupon, etc when it’s not even necessary? Seriously?

Sincerely,

Somebody who is stuck going to your store because Michael’s and Joann’s are too far away and the only other options are Walmart or buying online when I don’t want to pay for shipping because I need it NOW and I’m cheap

I had that happen twice last week..the first time the cashier tried to tell me that my yarn (which was on sale) was not yarn but crochet thread and I had to take him back to where I got it from to SHOW him it wasn’t crochet thread and explain the difference between the two. The second time, the hook I needed for the project I’m working on went missing (I suspect one of the cats had snagged it and it’s god only knows where right now..probably under the bed or it got kicked under the couch while they were playing with it or something) so I had to go buy a new one. No biggie…with the 40% off coupon they put out every week, it was less than 2 bucks.

The cashier scanned my hook, scanned my coupon and told me it was $18.

I showed him the price tag on the item and he was like, “Are you sure that’s right?”

The price tag said $2.75. giphy

I’ve never seen a crochet hook that costs more than four or five bucks..and that’s for the expensive fancy wooden ones or the ones with ergonomic handles, y’all. This was an ordinary, plain AF steel (or maybe it’s aluminium, IDK) hook.
