So, I don’t know why, but for some reason it is VERY common that when I’m on the verge of falling asleep, I will get the sensation of slipping on ice which always jerks me awake and leaves me going “WTF, brain? I was almost asleep.”
This afternoon, as I took a nap, I was dreaming about being stuck in a metal folding chair that was stuck in the grill of a large car and for some reason, my lips were totally numb. It turned out that I fell asleep on the shawl I’d just finished working on and for some reason, the lace bits had caused my lips to go totally numb.
This shawl, in fact. I’d wrapped myself in it to take a nap because it was slightly chilly in the bedroom but not chilly enough for a blanket.
I used Fiber Spider’s Butterfly shawl tutorial on Youtube to make it, along with a cake of Yarn Bee Rainbow Wrapsody in “Teal of Fortune” with a size F hook. I’ve put it up for sale on Facebook Marketplace as well as Nextdoor. Wish me luck in selling it! I’m only charging $30, because if I charged what I thought it was actually worth (around $100, due to the time it took me to make it and that’s not even paying myself minimum wage, since it took me around 2 weeks to complete) I’d NEVER sell the damn thing. And if I don’t sell it within a couple of weeks, I may just take down anyway and keep it. Because it is super pretty. But that’s how I get in trouble…I fall in love with a pattern and make it up, then it just sits there until I’m bored with it and give it to charity or my mom who then gives it to charity or to be put up as a prize at Seniors Bingo at her library.
