Don’t let it dominate you, says the President, as if we have ANY freaking choice in how our bodies respond to COVID-19. Because if we let it “dominate”, if we don’t “win” over a virus we didn’t choose to be exposed to which wreaks havoc with our immune systems, then we must somehow be weak, right?
Y’all I can’t EVEN with this guy. I don’t wish him ill or that he would die from COVID, because it’s a shitty, shitty way to go, gasping for air while your lungs are filled with fluid and you can’t take a deep breath. But I feel absolutely NO sympathy for this guy. Absolutely none. He refused to wear a mask, because it would make him look weak and not like the go-getting, do what you have to do no matter who you hurt or what it costs killer his father (who was as big an, if not a bigger, asshole than his son) raised him to be. He thinks if he bails his people out…again…with a stimulus check, then he’ll be seen as this loser by…IDK. Somebody. Putin or his bestie Kim Jong Il or…IDK. Somebody. The world maybe?
I do not like Joe Biden. I don’t think he’s the best possible choice for the Democratic party, but he’s the best choice we have right now and I cannot help but admire him for being a class dude in the face of all this madness.
I’ve changed my mind about voting (because what is changing your mind but a woman’s perogative right? Isn’t that how the old saying goes?) and I’ve requested my mail in ballot, but I haven’t yet received it and I don’t now that I’ll be considered qualified to receive one. Which means I’ll have to stand in line at wherever my local early voting place is (which I have to go look up) because I’ll DAMNED if I stand in line for hours on November 3 with a crowd of people who can’t or won’t social distance and some of whom may or may not be wearing masks when there is also the potential for Trump’s goons to be out “poll watching” and intimidating voters. Our LOVELY state governor has also decided that there can only be ONE official drop box–per county–for mail in ballots. Because OF COURSE he wants to make it harder for people to get their ballots in on time. The postal service has gone straight to hell over the last few months and do you realize how big some of the counties in Texas are? Some counties are the size of small states ALL BY THEMSELVES. Brewster county, for example, is the larger than the Delaware. Three times larger. It’s bigger than the state of Connecticutt, but only slightly. And by slightly I mean about 500 square miles. Can you even IMAGINE how difficult that might make voting (whether in person or by mail) for some people? I can…but only because I live here and know how big this state is, how spread out things can be in some parts of the state. It’s just something you get used to and sometmes take for granted when you live here. You don’t measure things in how far away they are by miles, but how far away they are by the length of time it takes you to get there. NextTownOver, which is a large suburb, isn’t a few miles away. It’s about 30 minutes, give or take five or ten minutes depending on traffic and whether or not there is a major sporting event going on that clogs up traffic even more than usual.
I didn’t want to vote…I don’t believe that Biden, no matter what the polls say, can win because Trump (assuming he doesn’t die from COVID, that is) won’t give up the White House without a fight and without turning the entire nation even more upside down than he already has over the last four years.
But I feel like I’m being prAnd if thatessured to do so and I kind of don’t have a choice even though I DO have the choice to not vote if I don’t want to. But I feel like I’m being pressure to vote because if I don’t then it’s the same as letting that orange tinted asshole win.
Which he probably will and if he doesn’t and somehow Biden pulls off a victory, Trump will stomp and scream and throw an epic tantrum about voter fraud, election interference and anything else he can think of to stop someone who is not him from taking over the reins.
Assuming he doesn’t die from COVID, that is. He says he’s FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE but somehow I seriously doubt that and that man is going to stupid himself to death. Which again…I hope he doesn’t but if he does, I have zero sympathy for him.
