OK so I’m trying to not get TOO excited just in case but…..

Assuming things don’t go entirely sideways between now and the end of December, we’re going to Orlando, which is one of my favorite places ever right after Christmas.

We’re going to spend 2 days at Universal Studio, one day driving to Daytona (about an hour away) so we can take my son to the NASCAR Museum at the Daytona Speedway (he is gonna be so freaking geeked!) and then…we’re spending 4 whole days at Walt Disney World.

If you can dream it, you can do it. Remember, this whole thing was started by a mouse.–Walt Disney

As of right now, Disney has restrictions as to how many guests are allowed in the parks at any one time. I BELIEVE it is 25% of capacity for each of the parks, but it may be 25% of all 4 parks total. I don’t know. I’ll have to check on that. In any case, you are allowed to go ONE park each day with NO park hopping, which you could do in the past if you had a specific park hopping pass ticket which allowed you to do so. Frankly, I’m going to really miss the park hopper pass this time around, because you could spend the morning at Animal Kingdom and then when it got too hot, head over to EPCOT to spend the afternoon wandering around mostly indoors at The Seas or Innoventions. Oh well. Hopefully, even though the Christmas season until after the first week or so of the year is one of the busiest times at WDW, it won’t be AS crazy as in a normal year due to COVID and the restrictions they have on attendance. I’ve been when it’s wall to wall people and even with social distancing guidelines in place, as long as there aren’t wall to wall people it’ll be SO nice. It also (according to Google Weather) will be in the 60s and 70s while we’re there which will also be super nice because when we’ve been before it’s always been summer, hotter than the Devil’s butthole after a bowl of 5 alarm chili and so humid you could almost drink the air. Not to mention the almost daily showers that the Orlando area gets all summer long. It never rained long..no more than an hour or so usually…but man, walking around in the heat with a poncho on made you sweat like you’d been doing hot yoga for an hour. It was awful.

I’ve already planned that the day we’re at The Magic Kingdom, I’m going to Disneybound as Tramp from Lady and the Tramp which is probably one of my most favorite Disney movies. I’ll be wearing a gray, long sleeved shirt, jeans and a red bandanna rolled up into a collar around my neck with gray tennis shoes to finish it off. I’m also going to make a custom Mickey ears headband, inspired by this one I found on Pinterest. This one is clearly machine embroidered, but mine won’t be. Now that our local library is open again (albeit with limited hours) I’m planning on going there to use their laser printer to print out a couple of clip art pics of Lady and Tramp, which I’ll decoupage onto some cardboard or maybe heavy cardstock which will then be hot glued onto the headband. Because we’re going into the Christmas season, I can imagine it should be fairly easy to find red/white gingham print ribbon and I can probably use yarn stiffened with glue and red pompoms to make the spaghetti.

Man I really really REALLY hope that things don’t go sideways between now and the end of December. I really REALLY need something to go right this year. Well, something ELSE anyway, since they’re calling Biden the president-elect now. It’s funny to watch Trump absolutely lose his mind over this, it really is. I’m betting come January 20th, the Secret Service will have to drag his butt out of there with him kicking and screaming all the way. He can protest all he wants, file all the lawsuits he wants, kick and scream and rage like a toddler who wants what he wants NOW and won’t stand for not getting it. But clearly the American people have spoken and said, “We are DONE with your bullshit, you big orange turd. GTFO.” I really was anxious that he would win over Biden and we’d be in for another four years of his incompetence, idiotic statements and whatever other hell he chose to unleash on us. Right now, for the first time in months, I feel like I can actually breathe (but yanno, with a mask on) and things maybe will start getting better. Maybe. I hope. Joe Biden may not have been the candidate I picked, but he’s better than Trumplethinskin by a country mile.
