I used to be a big believer in the democratic process, that voting was ALWAYS the right thing to do, that this country wasn’t THAT bad despite indications to the contrary.
Over the last few years, that opinion has changed. This country IS that bad, worse even. And the democratic process is a frigging joke.
There is a very real possibility that Donald Trump (who I believe has made a mockery of America and her people and of the office of the president in general) will find a way to either delay the election, to say that the process was unfair and that the election was rigged. He will have to be dragged, kicking and screaming, like the recalcitrant toddler he is, out of the White House.
I’m not voting in November, because I’ve given up. I don’t believe that the best person will become president. I don’t believe that Joe Biden has even the smidginiest of a chance, because Donald Trump will find a way to either hang on to the presidency or declare a military state and become king/emperor/what the hell ever you wanna call him.
I have no faith that the laws will work as they should and the government will work as IT should. I just don’t anymore.
America is on a downhill slide and we’re gonna end up in a terrible place and what bothers me the most is that there is little, if anything, we can do to stop it.
